The second private members' celebration event for the Amphibian and Reptile Club (ARC) unfolded on November 11, 2023, surpassing its predecessor in every aspect. Following four months of relentless effort and refinement, we heeded the feedback from the initial event, undertaking substantial improvements.
Securing a new and spacious venue for the ARC was a game-changer, creating an atmosphere of comfort and ease as members explored exhibits, engaged with selected exhibitors, and marveled at their extraordinary projects. With an impressive increase to 50 exhibitors, the second show provided a captivating experience for all attendees, showcasing a diverse array of species. Members enjoyed interacting with exhibitors. We all observed a respectful two-minute silence at 11 am to honor Remembrance Day, reflecting on those who had fallen.
The event featured truly fantastic animals, with exhibitors showcasing mind-blowing examples. Dedicated keepers and breeders from across the country put in tremendous effort to prioritize the well-being of their animals, sharing their life's work with our loyal members throughout the day.
Filled with camaraderie and celebration, the day featured two independent food vans offering hot meals and delectable gourmet waffles for dessert. The festivities concluded with a heartfelt thank you to all for their unwavering support of the ARC and for attending the event.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback affirmed that the hard work invested resulted in a day loved and enjoyed by all. The ARC remains committed to continuous improvement, and we eagerly prepare for the next members celebration in the spring.
